Today is about......play

Today is about play. How much do we play? Is play a part of our existence? What is my favorite way to play? Have I forgotten how to play?

Often as adults we lose our sense of spontaneity and curiosity and forget to include playfulness in our lives. The drudgery of the daily grind, commitments, accountability, responsibility - all of those big “ability” words can take away our sense of whimsy, glee, and spark for fun. “Adulting” can turn back the playful fire to a very small and smoldering ember.

What excites me? What sparks my creativity? What helps me to giggle, twirl, or run really fast! What did I used to enjoy as a child? Where did I hang out and play with my friends? How can I reintroduce play into my life?

My commitment to self……I will start playing with clay and throwing ball with my dog at least one time each week. I will find a humorous cartoon or video and laugh. If I have trouble connecting to play, I will sit on the floor with a young child and let them teach me how to play. What will you commit to?
